Finalists representing Balbriggan and Malahide Road nursing homes will be vying for top honours in excellence of care at the Nursing Home Ireland Care Awards 2019.
The awards, held in association with Homecare Medical, will be take place on Thursday November 14 at Citywest Hotel in Dublin.
Twenty seven finalists across a range of disciplines within the nursing home sector will go forward to the national awards ceremony final.
The NHI awards recognise excellence of care provided across a range of disciplines within nursing homes, and innovative practice in care provision.
The three North Dublin finalists and their award categories are: Lovella Valenzuela, Hamilton Park Care Facility, Balbriggan - 'Nursing Home Director of Nursing / Person in Charge Award'; Susan Lee, Hamilton Park Care Facility, Balbriggan - 'Registered Nurse of the Year Award'; and Activities Team, CareChoice Malahide, Malahide Road - 'Nursing Home Social & Recreational Programme Award.'
RTE presenter Marty Whelan will MC at the awards ceremony.
Nominations were invited and submitted from 382 NHI member nursing homes based in communities across Ireland.
The NHI Care Awards' ten award categories recognise nurses; carers; ancillary workers; activity coordinators; catering in nursing homes; innovation in dementia care; community initiative; end of life care and the contribution of residents to nursing home life.
